Writers Inspiring Change featured book review: Dark Eagles Rising: The Eagle Quartet, Part 2, by Carole McEntee-Taylor

An historical thriller filled with intrigue

Dark Eagles Rising - Part 2 of The Eagle Quartet, by Carole McEntee-Taylor, takes us deeper into the intrigue and convolutions of pre-WWII Europe - as introduced in Part 1 of this series. This story spans Germany, Austria and Italy, depicting a very real, and often times interlaced with actual historic events, about several families caught up in the turmoil of political madness in Europe, where forces of contention and opposition between Hitler's Nazism and his growing pogrom to eliminate Jews and his pre-war agenda, the threat of Communism infiltrating Europe from the USSR (Russia), and Mussolini's fascist movement in Italy, yet another mad dictator who is secretly supporting Franco's drive for a totalitarian fascist state Spain. The intertwining of familial bonds, the broken loyalties, the hidden romances and even the brutal deaths of loved ones, all of this keeps the reader wondering, where and when does it end? Do the families eventually break apart because of political and racial animosity? Do they simply kill one another off because of differences in ideology? Or does it all eventually play out on the battle fields of the Great War, World War II - which looms ahead. If you enjoy historical fiction and intrigue, this is recommended reading..

Sleeping Eagles

The 3rd book in this series, set in the US, UK and Australia during the 1920s and 1930s, is coming.

Watch for it.
