Writers Inspiring Change feature book: Queen of the Warrior Bees

Queen of the Warrior Bees, by Jean Gill, is a magical fantasy with a profound message about the force of Nature and the battle between man and the very essence that provides life to us. The story centers around Mielitta, a young woman, coming of age in the walled city, the Citadel, where everyone lives under the delusion that beyond its walls, the forces of nature, the trees, the animals, the air and sun, are the greatest threat to their survival. Mielitta, already a rebel at heart who questions the mages who impose unchallengeable control over the citizens, is forced to escape the walls one day and encounters not danger, but the ultimate beauty of Nature. However, her curiosity oversteps the bounds of a bee's hive, and she is fatally stung by hundreds of them. What happens next is not to be revealed here, but rest assured, by the end of this story, one's appreciation for Nature, and in truth, for the amazing qualities of bees which most of us know nothing about, will leave you with a new perspective. It's a long story with many twists, but the ending does not disappoint. This is a well-written tale and recommended for young and old alike.
