Writers Inspiring Change feature book review: Misfortune's Wake

Misfortune’s Wake, is yet another great piece of writing by Joe Kilgore, who delivers up a bedside thriller that will keep you hooked, because it has it all; action, thrills and romance. An exotic setting in a small Brazilian town, a seemingly passive and idyllic picturesque scene turns into something ugly, as the main character, Stephen Russell discovers corruption at the very heart of this small town, where young girls are being turned into prostitutes, which everyone seems to know about and tacitly concede to. Russell finds himself up against corrupt police and as the chips start to fall, so do the bodies. Fast-paced and colorfully written, this thriller will keep you guessing as you lose sleep turning the pages to find out what happens next.
